Overlooking the 18th century ‘Historical Ruins of Balaclava’ and ‘Citron River’, this colonial-style mansion built in 2009 is recognised as the ‘fine dining address of Mauritius’. This ‘à la carte’ gourmet restaurant in the heart of the Maritim Estate offers its guests exquisite cuisine with international specialities, French and Indian Ocean delicacies as well as world-class wines from its wine cellar.
The French Executive Chef of the Maritim Hotel, Eric Poutot, in collaboration with the Chef of the ‘Château Mon Désir’, Rakesh Manoruth, have carefully selected the best products of the Indian Ocean, such as the ‘Indian Ocean Rock Lobster’ in addition to other delicacies from around the world, such as the ‘Kobe’ or ‘Angus’ beef. All vegetables used for the restaurant are only sourced from organic farms.
The 'Château Mon Désir', recognised as one of the best restaurants in Mauritius, regularly renews its menu with seasonal produce. Its famous ‘Sunday Brunch’ offers a wide array of delicacies on a sumptuous buffet as well as ‘à la carte’ dishes… all in a relaxed and refined atmosphere of this colonial style mansion house which transports its guests to another time…
Château Mon Désir’ is open for dinners Tuesday to Saturday from 7am to 10pm, for High Tea every weekend from 3.00 pm to 05.00 pm (750 Rs per person, 50 % discount for children under 12 years old) and Sunday for brunch from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm at RS 1350 per person (selection of Sparkling rosé and other beverages included), 1 child for free, others at 50 % of the adult rate. Access included to the ‘Historical Ruins of Balaclava’, to the little animal farm, giant tortoises park and MARITIM Equestrian Centre. Live music, elegant dress code (long trousers, no jeans, closed shoes and shirts for men for dinner).
